Istanbul Perfume Workshops is a unique cultural experience where the art of perfume making meets the rich heritage of Istanbul. Our workshops invite guests to create their own signature fragrance while discovering the fascinating history of perfume, the traditions of the Ottoman Empire, and the beauty of Turkey’s natural aromatic treasures.
Our project is built upon the experience of Les Arts Turcs Art Gallery & Culture Center, a cultural institution founded in 1997 in the heart of Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet district. For nearly three decades, Les Arts Turcs has welcomed thousands of visitors from around the world through authentic hands-on workshops in Turkish marbling (Ebru), calligraphy, mosaic art, ceramics, traditional crafts, Turkish cuisine, and other cultural experiences.
The founder of Istanbul Perfume Workshops, Nurdogan Şengüler, has devoted more than 30 years to promoting Turkish culture through experiential tourism and artistic education. Since establishing Les Arts Turcs in 1997, he has organized thousands of workshops and cultural Events like Istanbul Photo Contest, creating memorable experiences for travelers from every corner of the world. Today, he combines this extensive experience with his passion for perfumery to introduce visitors to Turkey’s extraordinary fragrance heritage.
Our inspiration comes from the unique botanical richness of Anatolia. We work with stories and ingredients inspired by the world-famous roses of Isparta, lavender fields, precious spices, aromatic herbs, and centuries-old perfume traditions that once flourished in the Ottoman palaces. Every fragrance created in our workshops tells a personal story while reflecting the cultural spirit of Istanbul.
